I think that today is the hottest day we have had all summer. I am not sure of the temperature, but it is humid and the air is so heavy. We have tried to play outside but it hasn't lasted long.
We did withstand the heat long enought to spiffy up the deck and the plants. Our deck garden is flourishing this summer. Here are a few pictures.

Rachel helped to trim the herbs back. We hope to send some of them to our neighbor, Putney, to use rather than throw them away. They are too beautiful.
That's our watermelon plant in the bottom right corner. It finally has a flower so we need to get it into the backyard very soon. We are going to cross our fingers that we get a watermelon!
Last night Jenn got to go out to dinner with her friend, Erica. The kids stayed over at her house with her husband and her mom. We had such a relaxing evening. It was my first time alone since Jeff and Ben left.
Speaking of Ben and Jeff... they are coming home tomorrow. We can't wait!
