Wow! CampQ had a great day! We were happy to have Jeff with us today as we started out towards the lake. Our first stop was the weir dam on the Holston river, just below the big TVA dam on the lake.

We crossed the bridge over to Osceola Island in the middle of the river and there was 1.5 trail circling the island. It was mostly shady and cool. We had a nice walk. At one end we could see the dam ahead.
After our hike, we drove up to the top of the dam and across it. It is always a breathtaking sight to look out over the lake and then over the other side down the river valley. We all agreed that we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
Our last stop was the Bristol Caverns nearby. The caverns are 200,000,000+ years old. We were so surprised at how large the caverns were. We were 180 feet below ground, almost as deep as the lake!
