Catch up post #2

Day 5, Sun, June 8, 2008:

We went to church this morning, we were glad we did. We havn't been in awhile.

Day 6, Monday, June 8, 2008

Today we tried to come up with something creative to do. We finally decided to make it a "Downtown " day. Our first stop was to have lunch at the Burger Bar. This place is an old diner where Hank Williams, Sr. ate his last meal before he died. I know we have driven past this place for the 12 years and now can say we have eaten there.

Next stop, the (relatively) new library downtown. We had to return some books (and pay fines.. we just consider it supporting the library financially). We arrived in time for the kids to make some crafts.

Then we went to the Wes Davis Greenway along Volunteer Parkway. Who was Wes Davis? Read for yourself........

It was a boiling hot day... we zipped over to the Corner Dog House for some drinks and then Downtown to Cumberland Park to see the sights there.

The grand finale of our day was a fire truck parked outside of the firestation next to the park. Daniel was in awe of the firetruck and would have loved to climb aboard.

Later that evening, Ben went to Vacation Bible School with his friend, Mason. Jeff was on call and at the hospital. We had quite a storm and a big limb fell in our back yard. The yard, driveway and the roof is a mess.

Day 7, Tuesday, June 10, 2008:

Jeff has a day off!!! He needs to get his brakes worked , so we all traveled to spend the day. At the Hands On! children's museum to spend morning. We have been there many times, but the kids always enjoy it. We kept losing Rachel and either Jenn or Jeff spent most of the time looking for her. Their special exhibit was "Construction".

Our last stop for the day was the Mall. The kids had a blast on the bungee cord jumping thing.
